Talent Density

The proportion of high-performers within a team. Often a stronger predictor of company performance than headcount.

Talent Density is a measure of the share of a team that performs at a high level relative to peers. Companies with higher talent density tend to ship faster, retain better and require less management overhead. In SaaS scale-ups, raising talent density is usually a higher-leverage intervention than raising headcount.
